How it works
- AMPThe Black Deluxe amp model provides crystal-clear tube headroom with brilliant top-end sparkle and no unwanted breakup.
- DYNComp 2 in the DYN block recreates console-grade studio compression, clamping down on fast strums to keep volume consistent and punchy.
- EQGuitar EQ 1 tightens the bottom end and lifts the upper frequencies, capturing the signature studio sheen of Rodgers' 'Hitmaker' Strat.
- FX2A subtle Room reverb adds natural acoustic dimension while keeping the tone dry and tight enough for pinpoint funk grooves.
On the guitar
Made for a single-coil guitar (Strat style).

Position 4 gives the essential out-of-phase Strat quack, with knobs wide open for maximum snap and chime.
Playing it
- Keep your picking wrist loose and moving in continuous 16th notes, letting chords ring only when accented.
- Release fretting-hand pressure between strums to deaden the strings and create the percussive chuck sound.
- Stick to higher 3-string and 4-string triad inversions on the D, G, B, and E strings to sit cleanly in the groove.
