The tone for any song, on your amp modeller.

Name a song. ToneSheet’s AI looks up the gear on the record and sets every knob on your modeller to match, with a reason for each one.

Free. Your first tone needs no account and takes 1–2 minutes.

Or play a ready one: Master of Puppets · Pride and Joy · Psychosocial.

Or describe a sound, like a warm, bluesy clean with a little grit.

ToneSheet with a tone for Slipknot's Psychosocial: the effects in order across the top (pitch shifter, gate, overdrive, amp, cab, EQ, reverb), the amp's knobs, and notes on why each effect is there.
Works with

HOTONE Pulze Mini · next: Sonicake Pocket Master

It plays from Chrome or Edge on a computer or an Android phone. On an iPhone, download the preset as a file instead.

From a song to your modeller in three steps

  1. Name a song

Or describe a sound, like a warm, bluesy clean. Add your guitar if you like.

  2. Get every setting, explained

Each effect and knob, and why it’s there. Which pickup to use and where to set your guitar’s knobs, too.

  3. Play it on your modeller

Straight from the browser over Bluetooth (on the Pulze Mini today). Turn a knob and hear it change.

Where the AI comes in

ToneSheet uses a large language model for what takes a guitarist’s knowledge: records, the gear on them, and how to get close. Everything that has to be exact is done in code.

What the AI does

  • Looks up the record

Which amp, pedals and guitar were used, and how the song is tuned, from a web search.

  • Picks from your modeller’s own models

The ones based on that gear, with every knob set.

  • Explains every choice

Why each effect is there, and which pickup and knob settings to use on your guitar.

  • Changes it when you ask

Say “less fizz” or “tighter low end”, and only that changes.

What ToneSheet does in code

  • Allows only what your modeller has

The AI picks from its own models (the Pulze Mini’s 221) and must answer in their terms, so it can’t invent one.

  • Keeps every knob in range

Each value is checked against the real knob before anything plays.

  • Works out the retune

When your guitar and the record are tuned differently, the pitch shift is calculated, not guessed.

  • Leaves your saved presets alone

A tone plays as the modeller’s current sound. Nothing saved on it changes unless you choose Save.

Questions

What is ToneSheet?
A web app that makes guitar presets. You name a song or describe a sound, and it builds a preset for your amp modeller, explains it, and plays it on the device. Every song also has a page with the gear on the record and how it was set, for any modeller.
Will it sound like the record?
It gets you close, the way a player dialling it in would: the nearest models your modeller has to the gear on the record, set for your guitar. Your guitar, your room and your modeller’s own speaker still change what you hear, so treat it as a starting point and check it by ear. Ask for a change in words or turn the knobs; every change is kept, so you can go back.
Is it free?
Yes. Making tones with AI has a fair-use limit of 50 a day per account, so it can stay free for everyone. Opening tones players shared never counts.
Do I need the maker’s app or an account?
No to the maker’s app: your Pulze Mini plays the tone straight from the browser over Bluetooth. On an iPhone, where that isn’t possible yet, you download a .prst file and import it there instead. Your first tone needs no account either, and opening or trying tones players shared never does. To keep tones, make more and change them, sign in with Google or a link sent to your email. A tone you made before signing in moves into your account.
Which browsers and phones work?
Making and editing tones works in any modern browser. It plays from Chrome or Edge on a computer or an Android phone. On an iPhone, download the preset as a file instead. Most iPhone browsers can’t reach Bluetooth devices yet.
Will it overwrite the presets on my modeller?
No. A tone plays as its current sound, and nothing saved on it changes unless you choose Save, which tells you first what it would replace.
Which modellers does it work with?
Today ToneSheet makes tones for the HOTONE Pulze Mini, and the Sonicake Pocket Master is next; more follow. With any other modeller, every song’s page still has the gear on the record and how it was set, to dial in by hand. The modellers page has each one’s presets.
What happens to what I type?
Your request goes to the AI model to make the tone, and the tone is kept in your library. Nobody else sees it unless you share it. The privacy page has the details.
What else is in ToneSheet?
A library that keeps every tone and every change as a version; setlists and a stage view with big type for gigs; and song pages, where players share tones and make their own versions of others’.
Is ToneSheet made by HOTONE?
No. ToneSheet is an independent project, not affiliated with HOTONE, Sonicake or any modeller’s maker. Their product names are used only to say what ToneSheet works with.
