How it works
- AMPThe Messe IIC+ model captures James Hetfield's primary recording amplifier, delivering tight preamp saturation without loose low-end flub.
- EQThe V-EQ recreates the legendary Mesa five-band graphic EQ V-curve, boosting sub-thump and crisp attack while scooping boxy midrange frequencies.
- PREBecause your guitar uses medium-output passive humbuckers instead of Hetfield's hot active EMG 81 pickups, Boost 1 in PRE adds clean input level to hit the amp with the right punch.
- FX2A tight noise gate clamps down between chugging palm mutes, while subtle Room reverb simulates the spacious One On One Recording studio drum room.
Tuning
The record is in E standard, low to high: E A D G B E.
Tune your guitar the same way. Or make your version above, say how yours is tuned, and your Pulze Mini shifts it to match.

The original rig
The crushing guitar sound of Enter Sandman was crafted by blending tight, scooped Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ heads with modified high-gain Marshall JCM800 amplifiers through Vintage 30-loaded 4x12 cabinets. EMG active humbuckers, meticulous double-tracking, subtle rack pitch widening, and Kirk Hammett's signature rack wah define the iconic tone.
James Hetfield (Rhythm): ESP MX-220 Explorer, Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ Head, Jose-modded Marshall JCM800 Head, Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Cabinet, Stereo Double Tracking, Eventide H3000 Ultra-Harmonizer
Kirk Hammett (Solo): ESP Custom / Gibson Les Paul, Dunlop Cry Baby Rack Wah, Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC+ Head, Marshall JCM800 Head, Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Cabinet, Studio Delay

- Lock in with aggressive, precise downpicking on the main riff to capture that mechanical, percussive Metallica feel.
- Rest the fleshy heel of your picking hand directly against the bridge saddles for chunky, defined palm mutes without choking the pitch.
- Release your palm muting cleanly when striking the open chords and low G and F power chords to let the resonance bloom.
